A Storm of Swords (George R.R. Martin)

I recently finished reading the third book in Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire series. Needless to say, discussion of plot or other varied book aspects is not something i would feel comfortable doing as a LOT happens in this book.
Instead, let me share with you the emails i sent to my Bosses Boss requesting information regarding short term disability for when I read book 4 (A Feast of Crows) and Book 5 (A Dance with Dragons) which is slated for a July 2011 release.
The mastermind behind a GRRM centric short term disability claim was a friend of mine, Shannon. At the same time as I was researching this in my office, she was requesting of her boss that her secretary be fired and replaced with a dwarf.
Names have been changed to protect the innocent (below).
Shannon is far from innocent so her name is intact (above).

Subject: Advice needed, could you assist?
My Liege, BossManAlias-
I have come down with the George R.R. Martin Ice and Fire syndrome and ?Cough Cough? need to go home. The Grand Maesters advise that the only medical correction is bed/couch rest, coffee, and a strict reading regimen of GRRM material..
This falls in line with the advice Lord Mongo received when he was previously afflicted.
I could be out of the office for at least another 1500 pages and may have a relapse in July for another 1000 pages.
Do you have any advice on how to file this through HR? I need to fast track this as Winter is Coming and I need to prep torches to defend against the Others.
Any advice you have would be appreciated
Jason

Dear loyal subject-
Sorry for the tardy reply. I was north of the wall protecting our land from the wildlings.
Because of the love you have to the kingdom and in the way you lead your soldiers, when the book is released on July, I will have?a copy ordered for you.
See you back in Castle Black in April.

  1. I recently embarked on a re-read (again), beginning with A Clash of Kings. I fear that I may not make the July 12 aDwD release. However, since I have read it all before (twice, I think), I may be able to skim certain plodding chapters and have my story-arcs in proper order to dive right into the new novel.

That said, I am almost more intrigued about the next season on HBO...quite well done!

Dammit, Ned, I want to hit someone!
