degrassi character sitings

 

so i was in the movie theater this weekend hanging with my girlfriend, suzuki.

we were wading through a decent but not great zombie movie... "Land of the Dead' by the king of zombies himself, George Romero..

to our surprise, we realized it must have been filmed in canada (confirmed in the credits) because in the opening scene, one character who gets a lot of camera time is none other than Dean, the Bardell Rapist from degrassi next generation. needless to say, we feel he was well treated in the film...

having recovered from the surprise of Dean, we were greeted later in the film by an extra in a night club. the camera had a couple really good shots of his head. i was attempting to determine why this man was so familiar when Suzuki leaned over and very excitedly advised me that it was Dwayne from DJH and DHS.

I hear other degrassi sitings include Joey as a helicopter pilot in "Godzilla"...... i havent seen him in it yet but will be rewatching it when netflix kicks the dvd my way :)

any others? i know i could imdb it, but that is less fun than hearing from others.

Blood and Tacos - Penetrator ManKill and others kick ass content

Blood and Tacos issue 1 is pretty awesome folks. You can read it for free at  bloodandtacos.com Alternately, if you want a copy you can save and keep forever and ever, it is for sale on Amazon for a whole dollar. $0.99 cents of glory. In a nutshell, it has a series of short stories that are written to appear as if they were long lost relics of the manly man era of pulp fiction. You know the time frame… we are talking chest hair, mullets, cheesy one liners, blood, fist fighting. All the things that make a Charles Bronson film awesome and the Joe Don Baker movie “Mitchell” so damn terrible (awesome). Current issue includes work by Gary Phillips, Matthew C. Happy Policeman (Patricia Anthony)

Back in the summer of 2010, I decided to see about curbing my book spending, and instead work on reading books already on my shelves. This was an obvious failure, when I was on the Powells Books website and found a bargain Sci-fi bin of books for about a dollar. I bought seventeen books and have been slowly working my way through them. Patricia Anthony’s ‘The Happy Policeman’ was in that pile of books. I am not sure how this ended up in the dollar bin. Turns out, this book was incredible, worth far more than the dollar I paid for it. I bought it sight unseen, had no idea what the novel was about, but the cover art painted by Mark Smollin caught my attention, the title was unusual and the book became mine. THIS BOOK WAS NOT ACTUAL SCI-FI. Do not auto-ignore this book if you are a genre snob, you may be missing out.
