Other Titan Comics/ Hard Case Crime Releases
Initial blurb states
"Unappreciated at her father's detective agency, the fabulous rabbit-loving Minky Woodcock straps on her gumshoes in order to uncover a magical mystery involving the world-famous escape artist, Harry Houdini!"This Prohibition era detective series seems to have a number of dark underpinnings. We do not have a lot to go on for plot, but analysis of the pages available shows a number of interesting points we can
speculate on.
It will be interesting to see if I am on to anything here
Speculation 1)
The opening page contains the following panel showing Minky typing correspondence. The recipient is listed as "Mrs. Christie". I have to wonder if this is a tie in to Agatha Christie, the 'Queen of Crime'. Will this eventually come full circle to a Christie storyline which was "influenced" by the Woodcock detective agency?
Speculation 2)
Houdini was a self proclaimed occult hunter, searching for proof over and over again of an afterlife/ ghosts, spiritual mediums. He was so devout in this search, that he inadvertently became a rather hated debunker of the occult. Seeing panels which take place during a seance, I have to try and see how it all fits.
Do all psychics do topless readings? In the movie Mallrats there was a third nipple, no such nip here.
Speculation 3)
The Girl who handcuffed Houdini.. This is a detective story. Handcuffed could easily be referencing to capturing him for a crime. Alternately, the preview art contains a fair amount of nudity and some violence, is it possible that handcuffed is actually a bedroom reference?

One way or the other, Houdini probably has a key to escape the cuffs, so this might be more of a catch and release than official poaching of wild escape artist.
